Noah...the Covenant MK

Noah (or Noach, in Hebrew) means rest. Eight years ago, we had you...and we rested. :)

You were born in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, just up the road from Parker, where your daddy pastored a bilingual church at the time.

View from your hospital window, the day you were born...

Your three big brothers were thrilled at your arrival!

So was your Daddy...

It's so hard to imagine that you're not tiny any more...you're eight years old. I'm so proud of you.

Your first name, Ryan, means "little king," or "kingly." We tried to give each of our children at least one Bible name – and carefully chose both names to signify some attribute we desired God to work in you. You, Ryan Noah, will find true rest only as a child of the King...and as such, you will become a "kingly one" - a royal priest in His Kingdom. THAT is worth living for! That is worth dying for...

The Noah of the Scriptures – whose namesake you are – was "perfect in his generations." Noah "walked with God." Noah's faith and obedience to God's Plan saved him and his family from the flood, the judgment of God upon all the earth. And when it was all over, Noah entered into a life covenant with God – a covenant that would affect all areas of his life, because of the hope of Rest that was set before him.

That, my precious Noah, is your father's prayer today for you. Surrounded by apostasy and ungodliness, be a young man who is "perfect in his generations." Walk with God, Noah. Obey His plan, as He laid it out in Acts 2:38: ...Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."

Enter into a covenant with him – a covenant of holiness, of godliness, of Truth. It's worth it!

For only then will you find Rest.

Happy eighth birthday, Ryan Noah Nix. Your Daddy loves you.
