Missions Spotlight

TACNA, PERU

Tacna is Peru's Southern-most city, sitting right on the border with Chile. With almost 289,000 people, Tacna is a thriving city of friendly people.

Tacna is located in the desert - at the edge of the Atacama, the driest desert in the world.

Tacna is lovely:

Tacna has delicious cuisine:

Tacna is home to Peru's only Islamic mosque:

Tacna has NO holiness, Truth-preaching church of the living God. Not one. And only one Oneness church of any stripe, to this missionary's knowledge.

And yet, this is one of the most spiritually hungry cities I have ever seen.

Who will weep for Tacna? Who will go? Or send someone?

The Lord of the Harvest is waiting.

PIURA, PERU

Piura, founded in 1532, is the oldest city in South America founded by the Spanish Conquerors. Located in Peru's Northern Coastal area, this beautiful and large city is always sunny.

hogarsanantonio.es.tl

Piura has, as of the latest census, 430,319 inhabitants. Almost a half-million...

It has its share of churches – beautiful buildings with no life or truth in them.

It even has a lighthouse!

YET, as of this moment and to this missionary's best knowledge, Piura has NO LIGHTHOUSE OF TRUTH.

Not one single Apostolic, holiness, Truth-preaching church.

The oldest Spanish city in Latin America...and it has never had a witness of Truth. My heart weeps tonight for Piura.

"Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven." – Matthew 18:19

Can yours join mine? Who knows what might happen?

SULLANA, PERU

Founded in 1783, the old and storied city of Sullana (Soo-YAH-nah) is located in the Northern region of Peru.

It sits on the banks of the Chira River, one of the North's most voluminous rivers, which empties into the nearby Pacific Ocean.

Sullana is large, with a population just short of 200,000 people.

It's a really nice place, with beautiful buildings...

Sullana is beautiful.

Too bad it's going to Hell...

200,000 people, and only one Oneness church of any kind. NO church that preaches all the Apostles' Doctrine.

But someone is praying that the Lord of the Harvest will send laborers into His harvest.

Maybe they're praying for you.

CUSCO, PERU

Cusco is the ancient capital of the legendary Inca Empire. However, the city far predates the empire, having foundations that are some 3,000 years old.

Cusco is know by various titles, such as "The Rome of America" (due to its many temples and shrines) and the "Navel of the World," as the Incas and, later, others called it.

Known for its red-tiled roofs and intricately carved wooden balconies – as well as the Inca foundations of many of its buildings – Cusco is a fascinating city.

Cusco, capital of the Department (State) of Cuzco, is home to well over 400,000 people.

There is great spiritual darkness in Cusco: some from Inca times, some from Spanish colonial times, some New Age, some Islamic, some witchcraft...and more.

Yet there is spiritual hunger for more than they have in this great city, as evidenced by this large, Trinitarian church building:

There is one small Oneness congregation in Cusco that does not uphold all the tenets of the Apostles' Doctrine.

And there is one man and his family, endeavoring to dig out a church, even though they no longer even have a place to worship (this picture was before they lost their lease):

Cusco needs prayer! And Cusco needs workers...laborers.

Surely God has not called just one or two to such a vast place as this...a city which is known world-wide, a city which has influence over a great number of satellite cities in its area. A city bound in the darkness of paganism and Catholicism for millennia needs Jesus Christ now.

Can anyone pray? Can anyone go...?

HUARAZ, PERU

High in the heart of the Andes Mountains, at the foot Mt. Huascarán,  Peru's tallest peak, sits the city of Huaraz (Wah-RAHSS).
www.go2peru.com
At slightly over 10,000 feet above sea level, breathing is a little troublesome - but the view is absolutely breathtaking.

wikipedia.com
www.skyscrapercity.com

Huaraz has a population of over 124,000 people, making it the second-largest city in its Department (like a State), after the city of Chimbote, which we have featured before.

Spectacular scenery and challenging peaks around Huaraz make it a popular destination for tourists and mountain climbers. A guide to mountain climbing in Peru - Andean Travel Web

www.publiboda.com

Huaraz was the scene of great tragedy on May 31, 1970, when a devastating earthquake struck Peru - with Huaraz at its epicenter. Huaraz was destroyed.

http://undiacomohoyhuaraz.blogspot.com
Close by, the city of Yungay (pop. 21,000) was completely buried when Mt. Huascarán split; millions of tons of rock and snow fell into a glacial lake, causing a huge mudslide that obliterated the city. Only 300 people survived; many of them still suffer from the memories today. http://elcomercio.pe/peru/ancash/yungay-sobrevive-aun-al-terremoto-y-alud-hace-45-anos-noticia-1814594

http://undiacomohoyhuaraz.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html

Huaraz has so much beauty, so much history, so much to offer. But there is one thing it has never been offered...

Salvation.

Huaraz has no church of the living God. It has, to this missionary's knowledge, never had a congregation of Christian, Apostolic Saints of the most high God.

124,000 people...on their way to Hell.

And that is the biggest tragedy of all.

PUERTO MALDONADO, PERU

92,024 people call Puerto Maldonado Home.

https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Puerto_Maldonado
This city serves as the capital of the Department of Madre de Dios, in the Southeastern corner of Peru. It is a close neighbor to Brazil.

Puerto Maldonado is an increasingly popular tourist destination, due to the beauty of its rain forest surroundings and the Manu Wildlife Preserve.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manú_National_Park
Puerto Maldonado is rich in lumber and exotic woods, in agriculture, and in gold.

But Puerto Maldonado is truly poor...

Because it doesn't have Jesus. What's more, they never have. To have so much, yet not have Him is a tragedy of epic proportions.

92,024 people are waiting for a witness. Please pray that we can get to them in time.

Or perhaps you are the one that is supposed to get to them...?
