As incredible as it may seem, the God of glory wants you to know Him personally. The Bible, God's word, shows us a very simple way to find salvation and enter into a relationship with God.
God Became Man
All have sinned! (Romans 3:23). Having fallen short of the glory of God, the sentence upon us was death (Romans 6:23). However, God, in His great and undescribable love for us, had a plan to save us from our sins. That plan involved Himself: God became man! (1 Timothy 3:16). As a man - a pure, sinless man, but a completely human man - Jesus of Nazareth, God's Anointed one, gave Himself for us. He bore our sins in His own body (1 Peter 2:24), and died for us! (Romans 5:8; John 3:16). Then, after three days, He rose from the dead, conquering death and the grave. Now, we can have eternal life...
So what do we have to do? Jesus Himself gave us the answer: "Repent...and believe the gospel" (Mark 1:15). What is the gospel? The good news of His death, burial, and resurrection for us (1 Corinthians 15:1-5). But if we truly believe the gospel, we must obey the gospel (Romans 10:16).
How, then, do we obey the gospel? We must die to our sins, be buried with Him in baptism, and rise again with Him through the infilling of the Holy Spirit, to walk in newness of life. (See Romans 6:4; Colossians 2:12). This constitutes a new birth! (John 3:3-5).
So how do we do that?
The Plan of Salvation
Notice the question that was asked of the Apostle Peter about salvation, and the answer he gave: "Now when they had heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest o fthe apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost ." (Acts 2:37-38).
When we repent, are baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, we experience the "new birth" of which Jesus spoke: "Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." (John 3:5).
By obeying these scriptures from the word of God and allowing Him to lead you to a life of godliness, you will experience a rebirth that will change your life and make you a new person.
"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." (2 Corinthians 5:17)
It's For You...Now!
If you have not yet known Jesus Christ in His fulness and in obedience to His plan, don¡t wait! The Message of the Apostle Peter in Acts 2:37-39 will change your life and give you joy, peace, happiness, and - most importantly - the forgiveness of your sins!
