The Root of the Problem

I believe that in each generation God has called enough men and women to evangelize all the yet unreached tribes of the earth. It is not God who does not call. It is man who will not respond! — Isobel Kuhn
A world in a downward spiral that is verging on totally out of control. The religion of Antichrist bursting across borders and swallowing cultures and faiths, as it slices, chops,
burns, breaks, and shoots its way to more and more power and territory.

Once-strong and mighty nations are reduced to quivering jellyfish that squeal to be accepted by all, even if it means being banished to oblivion or reduced to the ashes of Sodom and Gomorrah.

Why is evil so prevalent, in so many places?

Partially, it is due to the times in which we live; we are truly in the last of the last days, and the Scriptures foretold that "evil men shall wax worse and worse." However, too many calmly accept the permanence of evil of today as a foregone conclusion, and resign themselves to coping with it.

That is not the mission of the Church of Jesus Christ! We are called to stand out, to shine forth, to stand – though it may be as solitary soldiers against mammoth armies – and proclaim the Truth that saved us…and the absolute authority of the Word we preach.

For it can save them, too. This message – this Book of God - does truly have unimaginable power.

And while the lovers of evil and darkness in the world will continue their downward spiral into depravity, the Scriptures do let us know that there will be a door of mercy opened for "whomsoever will;" our nation and our world can be saved.

But it takes more than talking about it. It takes more than giving for it. It even takes more than praying and sending someone...

It takes going.

The church of Jesus Christ today often places too high a premium on missions giving, in the financial sense (did a missionary just say that?). What we desperately need to be promoting and encouraging is going to reach the world's lost.

It is interesting that Jesus said, "Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that He would send forth laborers into his harvest" (Luke 10:3). But how often do we ignore the fact that, in His very next breath, our Master told the ones He had requested to pray, "Go your ways: behold, I send you forth..."

"If you can't go in person, go in purse," goes the old missions saying.

But it's high time for more to go in person.
