Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God [lit. "thought it not something to hold on to"]: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. ––Philippians 2:5-8
The greatest gift imaginable – the greatest gift that could ever be given – was the life and blood of the Son of God. No, not a second "Person" of God, but Jehovah God Himself, in a human body which He fathered in Mary's womb. "Immanuel" – God With Us!
Yet that greatest gift – the gift of Himself – would never have taken place without going. God had to go into flesh. Into a manger. That flesh had to go into a lost, hurting people, who were scattered like sheep without a shepherd. He wept over them, had compassion on them – and went to them.
He kept on going...all the way to a cross. Then, to a tomb. Then, to Heaven to prepare them a place.
And He's coming again very soon. Except, for Him, it will be a going again.
Going.
If we are ever to truly thank Him in some way, we'll have to do as He did and reach for the lost. If we are ever to be as He was/is, there is one thing we cannot forget to do in all our doing:
Going.
"And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature." (Mark 16:15)
How about it?
Amen, we received the most precious gift to man! Mathew 9:37 states... the harvest is truly plenty but the labourers are few. I believe there are plenty willing But the labourers need to get moving...the Church needs to awake !
