MY HOUSE IS FULL
L. Wolfe
There is peace and
contentment in the Father's house today
Lots of food on the table,
and no one is turned away;
There is music and
laughter as the hours pass by
CHORUS
"My house is full,
but my field is empty;
Who will go and work for
Me today?
It seems my children all
want to stay around my table
But no one wants to work
in my field...
No one wants to work in my
field."
Push away from the table;
look out through the window pane:
Just beyond this house of
plenty lies a field of golden grain
And it's ripe unto
harvest, but the reapers –– where are they?
In the house...O, count
the children! Hear the Father sadly say:
(Chorus)
–––––––––––––––
Conferences...thank God
for them. Youth Camps...Family
Camps...retreats...fellowships...fellowships...rallies...fellowships...outings...field
days...
Field days.
That's what the enemy is
having in too many places. Because God's children are not in the field.
We need moments of
fellowship for strength; it's healthy and Biblical. However, fellowship and
meetings can end up filling major blocs of time in our year. Yes, we are
children of the House...but we are also servants and workers.
And workers may sleep in
the House, but they belong in the field.
"Who will go and
work for Me today...?"
Bro. Nix, I'll give a hearty "Amen!" to this post. Our duty to go and preach the gospel to every creature has been heavily on my heart, and it has been the cry of the Spirit in the pulpit lately here at our home church.
ReplyDeleteWe need to be working the field the Lord has placed us in. Looking for the increase that only He can give as we labor in His vineyard. Thank you for the post.
And thank you for your passion for the lost!
