The river has reached apparently historic heights (at least, the highest in the lifetimes of some of the ministers from that area), and there are saints who have had to sleep on the streets, and churches that are inoperable due to the high water.
In the pictures that follow, bear in mind that you are looking at the second floors of most of these structures (except for the church building). The water is almost inside the second floors in some cases.
A brick-and-sand barrier was ineffective...
The interior of the church is swamped.
Boardwalks along the outside of the homes
You're looking at the second story...the first floor is underwater.
In some areas, the water is almost in the second story; in other areas, it is already there.
The waters of the Amazon, Itaya, and Nanay Rivers have even reached higher areas of Iquitos.

We would appreciate your prayers for relief from these floodwaters – and the disease conditions they bring with them.
Wow! That's crazy how high they have risen in such a short time. Praying for Iquitos!
ReplyDeleteThank you! BTW, That is not the church building you guys went to...it's closer to the market where the food stalls are.
DeleteGod bless those precious saints in Jesus Name! We will be praying for all! Also, we ask your prayers for Texas, as, we are flooded horribly and many lives have been lost, while many more are in dangers path.
ReplyDeleteI already am! Monitoring the weather radar and asking God to protect and deliver His own.

ReplyDeleteKeeping these folks and the situation in prayer. If God can part the Red Sea and the Jordan—He can bring those rivers down within their banks quickly.
ReplyDeleteYou might post of any associated financial needs and how to help. Just a thought.
Good idea.
